Athlete’s foot

You could have athlete’s foot if you have the following symptoms:

  • itching
  • Strong scaling on soles and between the toes .Bubbles
  • The infection usually begins in between the toes.
  • In severe cases, cracks form.

The risk of infection is large and therefore Athlete’s foot infections are quite common nowadays. People who often walk barefoot as in swimming pools or saunas, are particularly vulnerable. With age, the risk of infection increases.

The following factors favor an athlete’s foot:

  • Close shoes and rubber boots
  • heat accumulation in sports shoes made of synthetic material.
  • A weak immune system due to chronic diseases (eg diabetes).
  • A poor blood flow to the feet.
